Diller, Helmut

Painter and sculptor, born 26.10.1911 in Stuttgart, died December 1984

Son of the famous animal sculptor Fritz Diller (1875-1946). Studies at the Academy of Arts in Munich. Travels through Europe, residances in France and Italy for the purpose of studying painting and sculpture. Studies the animals of the northern countries at the painter Bruno Liljefors. Exhibitions in the Haus der Kunst, Munich, in New York, Chicago and Budapest. Member of the artists’ community Frauenchiemsee. Diller is painting landscapes, portraits and especially European and African game. He illustrates important zoological books like „Grzimeks Tierleben“. His most important art work are the sculptures of animals in bronze and silver.
