Joanna Jesse was born 1975 in Posen (Poland). After graduating at the School of Art in Posen she trained to be a graphic designer. Since 2005 she has been working independently as an artist and lives in Bergisch Gladbach. One year later she attended lectures by Professor Herbert Brandl at the Art Academy Düsseldorf.
In the years 2006 and 2007she has won many prizes and is currently taking part in several exhibitions and trade fairs in Germany, Austria and Spain.

Joanna Jesse paints scenes from an earlier day-to-day life so that these become a document for this particular moment. Her main motive in is childhood. In her paintings she expresses the carefreeness and lightheartedness of being a child in the intensity of colours as well as in plays of light and shadow.
