About us
Although not established until 1967, …

… the gallery was an idea that had taken shape many years before – in the mind of the young student Dieter Grimmig, on the lookout for a hunting painting of high quality for his father. Very discouraged Mr. “G” came to the conclusion that there was no such painting to be found in Germany and he decided to fill this niche in the German market.
A significant influence in this process was his acquaintance with the later internationally renowned wildlife artist Manfred Schatz, who introduced him to the works of Wilhelm Kuhnert, known in the art world as ”Löwen-Kuhnert” (lion-Kuhnert). Seminal was his acquaintance to Professor Norbertine von Bresslern-Roth, a well-known and highly acclaimed animal artist from Austria. Dieter Grimmig became the artist’s biggest fan and customer. He opened Galerie G on the banks of the Neckar River with a carefully chosen selection of hunting-, wildlife- and other representational art. The gallery won international prestige at national and international exhibitions, e.g. the World Hunting Exhibition 1971 in Budapest followed by exhibitions in Reno, Las Vegas and San Antonio.
In the middle of the 90s Petra Kern tackled the job and changed the hobby of her father into a professionally run business. A new breeze entered the gallery. After undergoing remodelling and renovating in 1997, the gallery reopened with a new appearance but with the same high-quality standard as before. The program, too, was underwent changes and the gallery, internationally well known for its wildlife art, for the first time started to show contemporary works of representational art. At the same time, Petra Kern spread her wings over the Austrian market.
With the works of Professor Norbertine Bresslern-Roth that had been collected over the years, she found many new customers between 1999-2003 at art fairs at the Grazer Congress, the Vienna Hofburg and the Salzburg Castle. Here she once more drew international attention. In 2002, the exhibition “Neue Sachlichkeit” (Neorealism) took place with over 80 works of art by eleven artists.
With this exhibition the gallery earned …
… recognition from the last critics. By taking part in art fairs as well as by increasing publicity, the gallery has gained even more artists in the contemporary area. There are currently fifteen artists permanently represented in the Galerie G portfolio. A team of dedicated and committed professionals play a major role in our success one which is as important as the indispensable passion that has been in the family business for four decades.
